Elemental. Land. Layers. Life. @ Collie Art Gallery
Jan 19 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Elemental. Land. Layers. Life. @ Collie Art Gallery | Collie | Western Australia | Australia

The Collie Art Gallery will be hosting an exhibition of works by Perth-based artist, Carol Rowling. Carol’s work explores the landscape from above, the myriad of colours, marks, layers, platelets and textures she sees from flying over this vast and fascinating country of ours.

She interprets this by carving into layers of canvas with a power tool. When assembling each work, Carol places the canvas over pre-shaped wood and stretcher frames.

This approach represents the true depiction of decades of aerial views, poignant memories of landscapes and photography.
