Parkour craze hits Collie

Collie PCYC is hosting the official launch of Gymnastics Australia National Free G Kids Program.

First developed by British Gymnastics, FreeG fuses traditional gymnastics and acrobatic tricks, with kicks and leaps made famous through martial arts and brought to worldwide attention by festival performances and stunt actors.

FreeG gets your body moving in ways never thought possible. It will get your heart racing and develop a heightened sense of spatial awareness that can be put to good use in a variety of other sports (including. boarding, biking, skiing, climbing and surfing).

FreeG is surprisingly easy to get into.  You’ll start by getting to grips with some of the basic techniques and jumps.  Then it’s over to you.  Get creative, set up walls how you want, and challenge your mates to perform increasingly amazing tricks.  We run sessions for all ages from eight years old to adult.  There are no competitions in FreeG.  But if you want to test yourself against others, you can transfer your skills to other more competitive programs like Acrobatic gymnastics or Team Gym.

Head along to the Collie PCYC on Wednesday, 30 May, at 5.30pm to find out how you can get involved.

Contact the Collie PCYC for more information.
