The 2017 Collie Community Bank® scholarship program is about to officially open and we encourage Year 12 students planning to attend university to apply for a local Community Bank® scholarship.
“It costs you nothing but your time to apply,” Chairman Jeff Riley said.
“I would really encourage all young locals heading off to their first year of university to look at the scholarships on offer.”
Applications open on Thursday, 1 December 2016, and close on Friday, 27 January 2017, giving students not only plenty of time to think about how they present their case for a scholarship and importantly, after university offers are made.
Once applications are closed, a formal review process of all applications will be undertaken and the successful student will be notified and money deposited into their account in plenty of time for the start of their first year of tertiary study.
The Collie Community Bank® Scholarship is $5,000 for the first year of study and consideration for a further $5,000 in the second year.
“We are a bank but we are a Community Bank® and our point of difference is the support we provide to our local community,” Jeff Riley said.
“Our ties to our local community are strong. We’ve watched these young people grow up and if we can help them on their tertiary journey, then we will.”
