It’s less than 60 days until children and their families descend on the central business district in Collie for the fun and excitement of the annual Lions Christmas Pageant.
This year’s Christmas Pageant will be on Saturday, 17 December, starting at 1pm with a festival of old-time Christmas spirit with carols, Santa’s Grotto, roving entertainment and all your show favourites.
Townspeople, young and old, line the streets to see the annual float parade around the streets at 6pm, followed by night markets and entertainment.
Get into the Christmas spirit and show your creativity by creating your own float. There are some great cash prizes up for grabs, with a first prize of $500, second prize of $250 and third prize of $150. School groups, companies and organisations of all descriptions can get involved. Floats assemble in Medic Street at 5.30pm, opposite the Vintage Car Club, ready for the parade at 6pm. Contact Ian Bushell to register your float.
Stallholders are invited to register for the ever-popular markets, which will run from 1pm right through until 9pm. Applications are due by Monday, 28 November 2016.
