Country music is about life and Kate Hindle’s new single Ready for the Ride reflects the hard year she’s had and the woman she’s become on the other side. Kate struggled with illness throughout 2017, but remains focused on a brighter future in music, starting with Ready for the Ride, released this week.
“I wasn’t able to perform a lot in 2017, so I put all my energy into recording my album,” said Kate. “This is a fresh start.”
Ready for the Ride is a co-write between Kate and Lyn Bowtell with the message that the young singer-songwriter is ready for whatever life has in store.
“The year I had was a very big eye-opener for me, and I found myself during that time,” Kate said. “I lost music because I couldn’t perform, but came out on the other side wanting to play music more than ever. I missed out on plenty of opportunities, but I need people to see I can work hard, push the limits and achieve anything I put my mind to. I have made a very positive thing happen out of a bad situation.”
The Collie artist said she wanted her listeners to soak up her fresh attitude to life and music.
“This single is about showing others what I’m doing and sharing my journey with my listeners,” Kate said. “It shows that no matter how much heartache you have or what bad experiences happen to you, there are always going to be positives out of it.”
With 2018 being the year of new beginnings, Kate already has three festivals booked between now and March – Tamworth, Boyup Brook Country Music Festival and Bridgetown Down Under Festival. The country artist will also start her own music school to help others grow through music.
“I grew up playing piano, guitar and singing, but now you have to travel 45 minutes to have a lesson and I want to give the arts community a chance to have music in their lives because it’s been such a big part of my life,” she said.
Ready for the Ride is the title track of Kate’s upcoming album containing four originals and three covers.
Anyone who pre-orders the album on iTunes gets the single as a thank you. Physical pre-orders are open at www.katehindlemusic.com. Following its January 19 release, Kate launches the album at the Paradise Tourist Park during the Tamworth Country Music Festival on January 23.
